This is a basic tutorial for making lavender bags. It uses a sewing machine and an overlocker. but you probably could hand sew these lavender bags it would just take a little bit longer. Each bag takes around 10g of lavender and you will need ribbon to tie them up. Lavender bags are good to put in your clothes drawers to make your clothes smell nice but also to protect from moths!
1. Cut your fabric into a rectangle that is 10cm wide by about 30cm long.
2. Overlock or zigzag stitch the ends of your fabric and then hem either end.
3. Fold your fabric in half, press it and then pin the sides together.
4. Sew each side to a 1cm seam allowance and then zig zag stitch. Trim the remaining fabric. Alternatively you can overlock the sides together .
5. Turn your pouch inside out and push the corners out with a wooden stick or suchlike to create crisp corners you may have to trim the fabric in the corners.
6. Now fill you lavender bag with lavender and use ribbon to tie the lavender bag up. Each of these bags takes roughly 10g of lavender.
enjoy!
